Bon bini Bonaire! Welcome to Bonaire!
Like many others we had a dream about starting a new life on a tropical island. For us this dream came through in February 2010 when we moved to the small island of Bonaire to built a small but intimate guesthouse, where guests will have “a home away from home” feeling.
But let me first introduce ourselves: my husband (Joop) and me ( Audrey) fell in love more than 20 years ago. Joop supported me while I finished my study of Language and Literature science at the university of Tilburg. At that time he was working in construction but in 2002 he decided to become a firefighter. He worked at the fire department of the city of Tilburg with great pleasure until we came to Bonaire. The last 10 years I worked with my mother and my sister in a wholesale company in cleaning items in Belgium. Nowadays my mother and my sister started their own company.
In 2000 we decided to get married in Borneo. On the 1st of September we got married in Kuching (Sarawak) and we got infected with the travel bug! The last 10 years we travelled a lot to Asia, Africa, the Pacific and the Caribbean. During our travels we started fantasizing about starting our own little hotel, resort, b&b or guesthouse. We were thinking about Mexico or Costa-Rica, but also about Thailand or the Philippines. It turns out we fell in love with a beautiful wooden house on the small but very friendly island of Bonaire. In 2004 we went on a (diving)vacation to Bonaire and it was love at first sight but we never returned to Bonaire because we wanted to see as much as possible of the world.
So here we are now, living our dream! We hope to share our dream with all future visitors and are looking forward to welcome guests from all over the world.
